"When we moved into our new building we wanted to create a pleasant working environment for our employees as well as a friendly, modern and professional experience for clients. We gave Karen at Voila free reign and have been delighted with the results."

"Thanks to Karen, our living room expresses our personality - it is elegant and also fun. Karen's design advice has sparked our creativity and motivated us to consider the look and function of the rest of our home.  We highly recommend a home consultation with Karen for either revamping your current space or pulling together your existing room with paint colour recommendations and accessories. We are delighted with the results of her work."

"Karen from Voila! does amazing work. Her ideas are fresh and modern and I am very happy with the changes she made to my home interior. Even though our home is only five years old, it needed Karen's creativity and her special touch to see a wonderful transformation! The consultation was a Christmas gift from my husband and was an amazing surprise. I would recommend Karen to anyone wanting a home decor consultation."

Style and Design Watch!

Home is where I relax, where I feel no need for time to pass quickly. Where I want those that I'm close to, to be.

Buying pieces you love brings personality and charm into any room. At the end of the day, you are the one living in that space. By creating a space with things that you love, the connection should come from either style or colour. Be brave, juxtapose a leopard print chair in a traditional atmosphere - how fun is that! We all have unique personalities and style that should shine through and individualize your space - WOW yourself!

- Choosing the right fabric for your upholstery doesn't have to be stressful. Keep the larger pieces neutral and stick with solids or tone on tone patterns that are timeless, such as stripe, paisley or damask. You'll be less likely to tire of something that doesn't command attention the moment you walk into the room. Create interest with a variety of texture... suede, linen, velvet and leather. As new trends come and go, have fun with bolder patterns and stronger colours on an accent chair or toss pillows which are easy to change when you want to freshen up the room. Keep in mind, you want guests to comment on the feeling of the room as a whole, not necessarily on individual peices.

- Bring some glamour and luxury to your rooms by adding some pazazz to your home! Glass, mirror, chrome and metal are materials that remind us of the precious items we find in our jewellery box. Their reflective surfaces bounce natural light around the room creating an uplifting mood and a sense of luxury. It's all about the finishing touches. Crystal lamps with silk shades add a touch of whimsy to a rustic night stand, and polished chrome or nickel hardware on a simple dresser adds a little sparkle and creates the unexpected.

- Your home should ideally tell a story about the people who live there. Inject some real personality into each room with an eclectic mix of furniture and favorite things that appear to have been collected over time. Avoid uniformity... make one end table round and the other square, one metal and glass and the other wood. A room should never have 100% of one "look". A good rule of thumb is to have 80% of one feeling and infuse the remaining 20% with pieces from an entirely different collection. By choosing pieces you truly love and pulling them together with accessories and textiles you will create your own unique space.
